Bob Beyfuss, now retired, was the Agriculture and Natural
Resources Program Leader for Cornell Cooperative
Extension of Greene
County
and the statewide American Ginseng Specialist
for Cornell Cooperative Extension. Bob received
a Master's degree in Agriculture from Cornell
University in 1987. The title of his Master's
Project was "The History, Use and Cultivation of
American Ginseng". He is the author of "American
Ginseng Production in NY State", "The Practical
Guide to Growing Ginseng", "Ginseng Production
in Woodlots" "The Economics of Woodland Ginseng
Production", "Growing Gourmet Mushrooms from A
to Z" and several other fact sheets regarding
ginseng and mushroom growing in forested
environments. He is also the editor of the
official "Proceedings" from the international
conference "American Ginseng Production in the
21st Century" He has made presentations on
American ginseng production and other topics
related to Agroforestry at conferences
throughout the United States and Canada. Bob is
also a project leader for the Agroforestry
Intern Program at the Arnot Forest.
